Kristin Karlin

Kristin is originally from Farmington, New Mexico. She relocated to the Durango area in 2015. She has four years of experience as a legal assistant and joined Crane & Tejada in early 2016.In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family. She spends as much time as possible enjoying the outdoors, including camping, hiking, boating, and scuba. She likes to paint with oils and acrylics and enjoy reading and bowling.

She is also involved in her daughter’s Girl Scout Troop, serving at various times as the Troop Leader, Treasurer, and Service Unit Director.


Anne Gunderson

Anne is Crane & Tejada’s bookkeeper. She has been with Crane & Tejada for 23 years. She currently resides in Santa Fe, N.M. with her cute little Rat Terrier dog, Nikki.


Amy Grant

Amy is originally from Atlanta, GA. She moved to Durango in 2006 and has worked with Crane & Tejada since January 2007. Amy loves living in Colorado and especially enjoys cooking, baking, backpacking, hiking, and camping.Amy will be the first person you see when you walk into Crane & Tejada. She will also be the person who answers your calls. Listen to what she says, because she will take care of you!



Janey is Crane & Tejada’s "office manager" and truly keeps the entire firm in order. As a heeler-border collie mix, she has over 13 years of navigating the often intricate and difficult complexities of herding lawyers and clients around the office. You will find her lying under the couch and demanding walks and kisses. She may be protective at first, but she is very loving, so feel free to hug and pet her.

In Memoriam


Rene Sweeney (1944 - 2014)

Rene Sweeny passed away April 2014 after being with Beth for over 26 years as her legal secretary and dear friend. Rene loved to fish, boat, and read. Originally from Tennessee, she moved to Durango in 1961. Her smile and sense of humor are missed by everyone at Crane & Tejada.


Alex C. Tejada

Alex passed away in June 2012. He was a founding partner of Crane & Tejada, but more importantly, loving husband to Beth and father of Beale. He spent nearly his entire law career working for the disadvantaged and underrepresented, both at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Colorado Public Defender. Alex supported many causes through the area, but especially the local 4-H youth as well as the Los Companeros organization. Alex is missed dearly by all his family and everyone at Crane & Tejada.

He is currently somewhere in the high-country riding his horses and mules.
